My SVG Is the Wrong Size When I Import It
If your Pink Pony Design SVG imports much smaller or larger than expected, don't give up, this is usually quite easily fixable.
The important thing is to resize the complete imported design together, rather than changing the size of individual pattern pieces.
First, check the test square
If your SVG includes a 1" test square, compare it with the 1" grid squares on your cutting mat.
It should measure exactly:
1" x 1" (25.4 mm x 25.4 mm).
If it does, your SVG is already correctly scaled and you don't need to resize it.
If it doesn't, keep the entire SVG selected or grouped together and choose your software below. We'll resize the complete design until the test square is exactly 1".
This is important because if the entire file has been scaled during import, all the pattern pieces need to be corrected by exactly the same amount. Resizing individual pieces can leave you with pieces that no longer fit together.
Brother CanvasWorkspace
CanvasWorkspace can automatically make an imported SVG smaller if the complete design is too large for its available cutting area. You may see a message saying that the imported SVG has been resized to fit the artboard.
How to fix it
Keep the complete imported design selected.
The easiest way to maintain the correct proportions is to drag one of the corner handles of the bounding box. You can also use the Size controls and select Maintain aspect ratio in the properties panel.
Resize the complete design until the test square fits exactly inside one of the cutting mat's 1" grid squares.
Once the test square measures 1" x 1", your SVG is back at the correct scale.
You can now rearrange the individual pattern pieces on the workspace as needed to fit your cutting mat.
Cricut Design Space
SVG sewing patterns should normally retain their original size when uploaded into Cricut Design Space, but if your test square isn't 1", you can correct the complete design before cutting.
How to fix it
Keep the complete SVG selected.
When an image or grouped design is selected, you'll see a bounding box around it.
Check the padlock icon beside the Width and Height fields in the top toolbar. The padlock should be closed so that the width and height remain proportional while you resize.
Now drag one of the corner handles of the bounding box until the test square fits exactly inside one of the cutting mat's 1" grid squares.
Once the test square measures 1" x 1", the complete SVG is correctly scaled.
You can then ungroup or rearrange the individual pattern pieces if necessary - just don't change their size.

If your imported SVG appears incorrectly sized, keep the complete design selected.
How to fix it
Keep the complete SVG selected.
Look for the lock icon beside the W (Width) and H (Height) boxes at the top of the screen and make sure it is locked. This keeps the proportions correct while you resize.
Resize the complete design using a corner handle until the test square fits exactly inside one of the cutting mat's 1" grid squares.
Once the test square measures 1" x 1", the complete SVG is correctly scaled.
You can then rearrange the individual pattern pieces on your cutting mat without changing their dimensions.
What if there isn't a test square?
If your SVG doesn't include a test square or another known measurement, don't guess at the correct size.
Check the corresponding pattern piece in your PDF for a measurement you can use for comparison.

The important rule
No matter which cutting-machine software you're using, the principle is the same:
Keep the complete SVG together → lock the proportions → resize until the test square measures exactly 1" → then rearrange the individual pieces as needed.
Moving pieces is fine.
Changing the size of individual pattern pieces is not.
