What Is an SVG File?

SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics.

For our purposes, you don't need to worry about the technical side of that. An SVG is simply a digital cutting file containing the shapes your cutting-machine software needs to recognise your pattern pieces.

Your PDF is still your sewing pattern and contains your sewing instructions, photos and other important information.

The SVG simply gives you another way to cut the pattern pieces.

 

Do I Have to Use the SVG Files?

No.

If you'd rather print your pattern pieces and cut them by hand, you can completely ignore the SVG files and use the printable pattern pieces in your PDF instead.

SVG files are simply an additional option included with some Pink Pony Design patterns.
