Catania Card Holder - PDF Sewing Pattern with SVG file

The Catania Card Holder is a cute little card holder and mini wallet that's incredibly quick and fun to sew. Despite its tiny size, it has a zipper pocket for coins and other small essentials, plus an optional clear ID card pocket - perfect when you want to carry just the necessities.

The zipper pocket can be made fully lined or unlined, and the optional ID pocket lets you customise the Catania depending on how you'd like to use it. Its compact size makes it perfect for slipping into a small handbag, crossbody bag or even your pocket, and it's a great little unisex design for handmade gifts.

Catania is especially fun to make from cork, vinyl, faux leather, leather, kraft paper or other non-fraying materials - and it's a fantastic project for using up those smaller pieces you've been saving. ❤️

An SVG cutting file is included, so if you have a compatible cutting machine, you can let it do the cutting for you and make this already speedy little project even quicker.

The PDF sewing pattern includes both inch and centimeter measurements, detailed step-by-step instructions and colour photos to guide you through the construction.

SKILL LEVEL

Beginner

The Catania Card Holder is suitable for a beginner with basic sewing skills. Previous experience installing a zipper is helpful, but the pattern includes detailed step-by-step instructions and photos to guide you through the construction.

FINISHED SIZE

Approximately 3” (7.5cm) high and 4 1/2" (11.5cm) wide.

FABRIC & SUPPLIES

Fabric:

Exterior - 10” x 8” (25x20cm): Non directional vinyl, kraft paper fabric, faux leather, cork or similar, where the edges can be left raw. A 5 x 14” (13x36cm) long piece will also work.

Lining - 9” x 4” (23x10cm): Cotton fabric, only needed if you desire lining for your zipper pocket.

Hardware/notions:

1 - 5” (13cm) #3 Zipper (or longer): Should match the exterior.

(4 x 3” (10x8cm) Clear vinyl: 12- or 16-gauge are both suitable. Only if you’re making the version with an ID window.)

Rotary cutter, cutting mat and ruler.

Double sided tape: Preferably ⅛” (3mm) but ¼” (0.5cm) will work as well and how is shown in the pattern) or fabric glue.

Wonder clips.
