Which Pages of My Pattern Do I Need to Print?
You don't need to print the entire pattern PDF.
Pink Pony Design patterns include sewing instructions, photos and other information that you can read directly on your computer or tablet. Only the pages containing the pattern pieces need to be printed.
Check the printing instructions first
Near the beginning of my newer patterns you'll find printing information telling you which pages need to be printed. In older patterns, it the last few pages that are pattern pieces so just check the bottom of your pattern. Some pattern pieces may also be simple rectangles that can be cut using the measurements given in the pattern rather than printed as templates. This can save quite a lot of paper and ink.
The page numbers vary between patterns, so always check the instructions for the specific pattern you're making before printing.
Print only the pattern pages
Once you've found the page range:
- Open the downloaded PDF on a computer or laptop using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Open the Print window.
- Enter the page numbers or page range listed in the pattern instructions.
- Select Actual Size / 100%.
- Print the page containing the test square first and measure it before printing the remaining pages.
There's no need to print the sewing instructions unless you prefer having a paper copy beside you while you sew.
